Students are allowed to work 48 hours per fortnight (subject to change) during semesters and unrestricted hours during semester breaks. Australia has a strong fair work and work safe law to ensure the rights and safety of workers are protected. There are many industries that offer part-time work such as Hospitality, Retail, Agricultural, Construction, Sales, and many more. The prevailing minimum wage is $21.37 per hour.
